How Long Does Vitamin C Serum Take to Work? H2V Skincare Insights

H2V Skincare by Burke Williams continues to gain buzz for its results driven formulas, so we’re taking a closer look at how customized skincare can elevate your daily routine. Triple C is one of our most loved formulas for a reason.

Our team is always focused on solutions around skincare and research along with a wide variety of studies show that Vitamin C has a direct and positive impact on skincare routines, which has led to a variety of products hitting the market, though many are derived from ideas not research/experience. And that’s where Burke Williams shines.

Looking at Vitamin C serums in particular and the common questions people ask, we wanted to provide our feedback below:

How Do You Know if Vitamin C Serum is Working?
In life we all want instant gratification which is why one of the most common questions we get around products/treatments is how do you know when something is working? And the simple answer is: The proof is in the results.

Are you waking up each day seeing demonstrable results? It’s almost like treating your skincare routine as a science experiment to see the results then making adjustments along the way to find what works best for you.

A great measure of success in any new addition to one’s skincare routine is to document your progress: Take a photo of your skin in natural light at one particular hour of the day then after 30 to 45 days of having used your product, take a new photo in the same space, in the same lighting, and at the same time of day.

Then ultimately compare the two photos and applaud your results or realize you have to make corrections, which is okay!

Is It Better to Use Vitamin C Serum at Night or Day?
Regardless of the brand of serum you use, we suggest Vitamin C being applied once a day in the morning though it can be applied twice a day depending on your skin’s sensitivity.

We recommend applying Vitamin C in the morning to help defend skin against environmental stress, pollution, and UV exposure throughout the day. It can also be used twice a day if your skin tolerates it well. Like all skincare, the right routine depends on your skin type and lifestyle.

Some studies, including tests we’ve done internally, show that there are benefits of using Vitamin C serums at night. In particular, during the night your skin is rebuilding and is not affected by things like UV damage or pollution and is therefore able to perform at its maximum potential.

This goes back to learning what works best for your skin along with the environment you’re in: The application of skincare products like Vitamin C will change depending on if you’re relaxing on the beach in Hawaii or going on an Arctic adventure.

Vitamin C for Skincare: What Should You Expect?
As we mentioned above, nothing is immediate like the flip of a switch and when integrating Vitamin C as part of your skincare routine here’s what you should expect.

Over the first couple of weeks you will notice an improvement in your skin barrier health resulting in a luminous glow and heading into week eight of consistent use you will start to see any unwanted pigmentation beginning to lighten and future melanin production has been inhibited among many other benefits. Keep in mind this is the norm and not definitively the results you’ll see, though the core principles hold true.

This is only a snapshot of the research Burke Williams has performed over the past 40 years before launching our H2V line of products, and there’s more to come in the near future.
