5 Tips to Make Your Bathroom Feel Like the Spa

Posted by support on Mar 27, 2014

Everything about the spa is right. The look, the feel, the smell - everything you need to unwind and recharge. But what’s a girl to do between visits? Ease your spa withdrawal symptoms with the following five tips:

1. Candles, candles and more candles - There’s something about the warm glow cast by a candle. It flickers; it dances. It gives an air of old-world luxury (and you don’t even need a flame!).

Lining the edge of your tub with candles is a given. There are other spots in your bathroom, however, that’re also begging for some wick and wax. Your countertops, table/vanity surfaces and even the top of your toilet tank are prime locales for candles. Of course, you should always make sure there’s nothing flammable above or around the flame.

2. Plush towels, and plenty of them - The fluffiest, most luxurious towels seem to be in unending supply at the spa. Why use one when you could use two or three? The allure is undeniable.

Keep your bathroom stocked with the highest quality towels on the market, and change them frequently to keep that fresh scent and fluff at the max. Sea salt, rose, soap and a burning candle on a brown table

3. Light that doth flatter - You will find many things at the spa, but one thing you will never find is a bare fluorescent light. And why would you? They’re guaranteed to make your skin (and surroundings) look as pallid, lackluster and sunken as possible.

Incandescents and candlelight itself are great for illumination, but you can also experiment with halogen and LED lighting options. Tryseveral kinds of light bulbs to see what makes you feel your prettiest and healthiest.

4. Fragrance - Lavender. Mint. Sea breeze. Whatever your preference, there’s an oil diffuser for that (or incense or spray, or even just a Glade plug-in).

You don’t have to commit to one scent, either. Why not espresso in the morning, pine forest in the afternoon and chamomile at night? The sky’s the limit.

5. Organization of supplies - Everything is set out so immaculately at the spa - the cotton swabs, lotions, tissues, towels, cleansers and everything else are at-the-ready and orderly.

Don’t make yourself rummage for products. Use your Tetris skills to neatly display everything you use daily.
